Hey there! I’m Caleb Crago. I am a social worker, law student, and Texas native, who accidentally stumbled into a love for anthuriums. Once I got my first anthurium, the awe and wonder that it struck in me were contagious, so logically, I kept buying more—as we plant people do.

The genetics and endless variations of the anthurium genus were a huge factor in my continuing to expand my collection of them. My collection started when I bought a set of anthurium forgetii seeds (Yes, I still have those plants). Watching them grow and seeing how unique each of them was, even though they were siblings, was intoxicating. The process of seeing two parent plants that I like, creating an ideal image in my head of what their offspring would look like, growing them out, and seeing if I was right or if that image in my head could be brought to life, is something so special that I am so grateful for. It truly never gets old.

I hope to provide that same experience to others. It is my most sincerest of hopes that as you grow out my plants, they bring you as much joy as they do for me. I hope that you marvel over each of their new emergent leaves, take a concerning number of pictures of them, and continue to not understand how your non-planty friends “don’t get it.”

My Commitment

  1. I will never sell you a plant that I myself would not be happy receiving.

  2. I cull my seeds and seedlings very, very heavily. This means that if a plant starts to show that it is not of the quality and vigor that I expect, it gets tossed. Harsh, I know. But that’s how I ensure a great growing experience for you!

  3. Through social media and educational posts here on the website, I do my best to be a resource and to impart what I have learned about these plants to you. I am absolutely no expert. There are many people with much more experience than myself, I’ll be the first to say it. I do think that the quality of my mother plants speaks for themselves, though. It’s something that I’m very proud of.
